The sight of the impoverished malnourished Filipino children who live in the Payatas garbage pit on a television documentary moved Bro. Eli Soriano to tears, eventually prompting him to establish a Foundation with Bro. Daniel Razon to help uplift the livelihood of these young people even through sharing and giving of food and other resources.
The Foundation was officially launched on July 4 to feed over 1,000 students of Payatas Elementary School with a humble breakfast; thus, sending a strong signal of love and compassion by these two men to our poor fellowmen, especially children.
The Foundation is an extension of what Brother Eli and Bro. Daniel has been doing for more than two decades inside the religious organization they lead, Members Church of God International. In the Congregation, the two men maintain orphanages for the widowed, disabled, neglected and the fatherless through ADD Foundation and the Lingap Kapatid.
From its pilot breakfast food care program in Payatas Elementary School in Quezon City, the Foundation reaches even further to provide meals to children at the Baseco Compound in Port Area, Manila.
All these efforts are geared to show our fellowmen how the members of the Church of God put premium and value to the needy, the lowly and oftentimes neglected part of this so-called civil society.
